Mambukal Nature Trip

Mambukal Mountain Resort in Bacolod, Philippines. Located at the peacful valley of Mount Kanlaon is only 30 minutes land travel from Bacolod City.

Spread over 23.6 hectares, Mambukal is a virtual nature paradise. It's series of 7 water falls, is it's main attraction feeding fresh flowing water to its swimming pools and boating lagoon. Equiped with hot sulfur springs which relieves the body of aches and pains is a draw among visitors young and old.

A vast forest park, Mambukal is an ideal spot for campers and nature lovers. The attractions include the Canopy Walk, a network of hanging bridges. Or try your hand at Wall climbing and Slide for Life.

Mambukal also has meeting rooms and function rooms, for those who want to hold meetings and
conferences close to nature.

Welcome to Mambukal...

Admire the majestic falls of Mambukal...

Take the plunge...Bombs away... Be careful though, jagged rocks below...

Up in the sky, it's a bird...it's a plane... No, fruit bats... hmmm...

All aboard...Take a boat ride in their boating lagoon...

Siquijor Adventures

Siquijor is the magical and mystical island of the Philippines used to be part of Negros Oriental and it was at that time called Island of Fire. Mostly because there are a lot of fire flies that can be seen along the shore lines during night time. This gives an impression of dancing fires. Very convenient as it was able to protect the island from invasion during colonial times.

Siquijor is said to have magic potions, shamans, sorcerers and witches - and a lot of Filipinos will not stay overnight on this island because of this superstition. For me it just makes the trip more exiting and I enjoyed my overnight stay in Siquijor.

Siquijor is only about an hours boatride from Dumaguete City, so it is easy to include Siquijor as a day trip from Dumaguete. Once you arrive on the island I suggest you talk to one of the local multicab drivers and arrange for him to take you around the island and show you all the sights worth seeing here or you could arrange a tour of the island from the resort you are staying in.

Check-out the view of dumaguete pier at sunrise.

A view overlooking the island, shows clean and lush vegetations...

Take a dip in the sulfur spring and cleanse your body of all those germs and microbes. Dr. Kauffman and Dr. Wong. eat your heart out...

Beat the heat swim or wade in the clean and clear water of their falls...

No jumping or washing of clothes here...

Admire the white sand beach of Sinag-Dong...

Take a swim in its clear blue water or go diving and discover the mysteries of the deep. Most resorts here rent out diving equipment and give diving lessons for a nominal fee. Don't worry, if you don't know how to swim you'll be escorted by licensed and trained divers. You will also get to choose the dept of your dive, from 6 ft to 20 ft, it's up to you. Each dive will be chronicled and documented for you and could be used whenever you decide to get your own diving license.

Enjoy your vacation and please leave all your work and gadgets at home, so you could enjoy the beauty of nature at its best.
