The Mind Museum at Taguig

Had a chance last Friday to join my sons educational trip at The Mind Museum in Taguig along with his CFA schoolmates.  Was really looking forward to this day and almost didn’t make it due to commitments at work, as it was the first time We would be visiting The Mind Museum.  Originally, only my son and I would be joining the activity as my other 2 kids (aged 2 and 2 months)  were still too young to enjoy the exhibits and  besides the entrance fee was too expensive.  However, at the last minute my wife decided to bring the entire family. We got a discount for the tickets for the school activity, as We only paid for Php 600 for 1 child (Php 450) and a teacher (Php 150), since CFA was a home school. We needed 3 more tickets 2 for my wife and her sister and 1 for our little girl, who too tall to pass below 2 ft.  The regular ticket for adults is Php 600 and Php 450 for kids, so this meant that We’d have to pay an additional Php 1650 for the tickets. Good thing there was a promo for Student Price for All Ages during Tuesdays-Fridays.  However, there is a small catch to the discount.  You have to shoot on the spot a 20 second video telling them what you would like to invent and why?  Seems simple enough, so I gave it a shot and got a Php 150 discount for each adult ticket. So instead of paying Php 1650 for the additional tickets, We just paid Php 1350. Not bad, if I may say so myself.

The discounted ticket. A proof that hard work and a thick skin goes a long way...

Upon entering the lobby, you'll be greeted by the reception, entrance, souvenier shop and this cool replica of an old's mobile which used to roam our streets...

The group was greeted by a welcoming robot before proceeding to the exhibits area.

The Mind Museum features 5 Galleries within its two levels:

The Story of the Universe:  One of the exhibits here shows you the different phases of the moon. It's even more stunning when you see it up close and personal.

This reminds me about a scene from Men In Black, where Will Smith takes a written exam to become an MIB agent...

The Story of the Earth: Shows exhibits on evolution and how the world came to be. Jurassic Park anyone??? They also have an auditorium which shows 15 minute featured films in 3D...

Evolution of Man, I can't seem to see the resemblance.  How about you???

Become an Archaeologist for a day and look for buried bones and fossils...

The Story of Life: One of the most notable exhibits here is the human brain.

The Ageless, Bernoulli Blower...

The Story of the Atom: The Strange World of the Very Small

Make your hair stand up with static electricity...

The Story of Technology: Shows human inventions and developments...

Marvel at the different uses and applications of glass...

Visiting The Mind Museum was a truly enlightening and enriching experience for My Son and My family.  Though My Son was still too young to grasp the concepts behind the exhibits, He still got a blast from running around and playing with the exhibits. We'll definitely come back when My Son gets a bit older and to check if there are new exhibits...
